I have a lot of skincare stuff. I mean, I have A LOT of skincare stuff. My medicine cabinet is literally bursting with creams, oils, serums and masks. To the untrained eye, one might even think that I have an unnecessary amount of beauty products in my posession– to the untrained eye, of course. But ladies who get it know that you can never have enough lotions, essence, toners, and pore minimizers. There is always the new thing waiting to be discovered that will absolutely change my skin...I just know it will.
Plus, it's fun.
Yet, sometimes its really the simplest things I go back to, time and time again and are the most useful in my daily routine.
Here is my list of simple (beauty) pleasures
The Tangle Teezer
This little gadget really works to detangle my hair without causing as much breakage as the other brushes and combs. It's also fun to use (because using anything unconventional to do something very conventional is fun). I got mine at Target.
Josie Maran Argan Lip Treatment
This shit is amazing! I mean better than any salve I've ever tried. My lips are wonderful after using this and it's now a part of my nightly routine to smear some on before bed- hence the empty pot!
No, you didn't read it wrong, I said: Jennifer Aniston Perfume. Before your start mocking me for jumping onto the celebrity perfume bandwagon, believe be when I say, this scent is dope! It's a pure, clean jasmine smell with a hint of summer days. The only problem is that the smell doesn't last long. I am on the look out for a similar scent with longer lasting power (if you have any suggestions).
Now that I am trying out bangs (big mistake) these hair velcro things are a lifesaver! They pull my bangs back without ruining them. This way I can wash my face, watch TV, write my blog without those pesky bangs in my face. But, when I need to go out, I can just velcro them off and my bangs are good to go without any annoying crinkles or waves that barrettes make. I bought them here, but you can probably also find them online- try sasa.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil
I've seen a lot of video bloggers use these in their makeup tutorials. I'm a spaz when it comes to applying makeup, so the simpler the better and it doesn't get simpler than this people. I swipe a bit of eye lid primer on first (to keep the color in place) and then go to town with either the Strawberry Milk or the Iced Mocha (depending on my mood). They are fool proof, I promise.
